One of the things that I really like about Matt is his dedication. There is never a worry that he won’t come through on something that he has promised. Whenever you ask him for something he comes through: from helping me figure out what I should eat for lunch and what exercises I can do at home to talking me off a food ledge when I wanted to eat a pint of ice cream.
Sometimes I get self-conscious about my weight and I wonder what people think about me. With Matt, I feel comfortable telling him all the details. I don’t have to lie to him, because I know that even when I overeat or don’t exercise, he won’t get mad; he only looks forward to how I can do better. I’ve learned from him that no matter how many times I mess up, I can always get back up and start again. That is why I have a newfound enjoyment in eating healthy. I don’t always do everything right, but I know that if I stick to what Matt has told me to do, I will see results.

Several months ago I signed up for personal training at Rapid Fitness. I was given Matt as a personal trainer, and I have been blown away by the experience.
First, Matt sat down with me, and we talked about my goals. We discussed where I had been physically and where I wanted to be and the best way to reach my goals. I was healing from two shoulder surgeries and a knee surgery. Matt took all those elements into consideration while developing workouts for me. We have gradually worked our way to strengthening my shoulder and knee, slowly and safely. Matt is very concerned with developing these muscles safely, while also pushing me to try harder at the workouts. He goes the extra mile to make sure that each workout will safely benefit injured areas.
Now for the results. I have seen a dramatic difference since working with Matt. I played in a soccer league before starting my personal training sessions, but I was not at the level that I had once competed at. Matt and I worked, with my goals in mind, to make sure that I could get back to the level I was at before the injuries. I can see a dramatic difference in my strength, endurance, and overall health. I have been able to accelerate and cut while running, which I could not do before starting with Matt. I have also lost weight, gained muscle, and lost inches around my waist and stomach.
I would recommend Matt to anyone of any physical condition. He is very personable and knowledgeable. You can tell he loves what he does and has a passion for helping people be their best and healthiest. Ever since the very first session when I came in nervous and apprehensive, not knowing what to expect, Matt was able to quickly dispel my fears with his knowledge, dedication, and passion for what he does. He constantly demonstrates this in every session that I have, as well. To him, having me become a better person and attaining my goals is as important as it is to me. On top of all of this, he is constantly available if I have any questions or if I need to talk about anything going on with me, fitness-related or not.
It’s because of this level of care that I consider Matt to be a friend, not just a trainer. I honestly don’t think I would rather work with anyone but Matt at this point because I might get the same results with someone else but I am not sure that they would have Matt’s level of caring for me as a person that really goes above and beyond what I expected.

Every session is intense and I have to push myself more than I would normally do in completing a workout. Moreover, he constantly provides encouragement so that I can get maximum returns.
Every session has some novelty attached to it in the sense that you get a string of exercises that are different from the previous session’s. With Matt, you can expect the unexpected, which, I guess, ensures that you don’t run into plateaus. He has a thorough knowledge of how a particular exercise targets a particular muscle group, and he makes sure that I am using proper form. I also consult him for nutrition and diet recommendations, and his suggestions have worked great for me. He is a great guy to talk to and is a good friend. I strongly recommend him for the good work he has been doing. Keep it up, Matt!

I was not just trained, but motivated and substantially educated by Matt about physical fitness.
It was the last week of July 2012 when Matt was appointed to train me with a goal of building up my strength with weight training. Since then, I have been not just trained but also motivated and substantially educated by Matt about physical fitness.
My journey in physical fitness began in November 2011 when I entered the gym for the first time to do boot-camp-style training for losing fat which was at around 26.5 percent. Soon I realized the need for bolstering strength and improving endurance, and I decided to join Rapid Fitness (not just because my friends went there but because it was an affordable option for having a personal trainer).
Matt was appointed as my personal trainer, and from that point on I began my journey toward adding substantial muscle and not just burning fat.
When I began training, like most newbies wanted to see whether I could work with heavier weights, sometimes even at the cost of form and full-range motion. Matt had a hard time, but he was eventually able to control this tendency of mine and get me back on track to concentrate on form and ensure full range of motion, rather than just focusing on the weight numbers. I did realize the benefit of it later when my muscles started growing stronger and I had diminished injury periods.
Another thing that Matt guided me through that was very crucial was building up my chest, back, and legs rather than just concentrating on arms. I spent quite a lot of effort trying to convince Matt otherwise, but I am glad he stood strong and gave me the correct guidance. Now, after almost seven months of training, I realize the difference. I had well-sized legs, unlike most of the people I knew who had this huge upper body but small legs. This not only helped me with legs, but since the big muscles were built up, the body fat started reducing quickly and I was able to get over the plateau and hit 20 percent body fat. Due to this, even though my arms didn’t appear big, I could still manage to lift a substantial amount of weight.
Matt didn’t just guide me through weight training, he was also able to notice my lack of flexibility and then guide me through stretching exercises. This cautious measure has prevented lots of injuries I would have brought upon myself due to my negligence.
One thing I noticed training in a gym with correct guidance is that it doesn’t just change you physically but it also changes you psychologically. Over time, you become more confident, with a positive attitude, and more focused. It doesn’t just teach you to appreciate the hard work of others but also to appreciate yourself and motivate those like you who were scared of entering the gym because they felt they were not cut out for it.
I was really happy when I visited my family in India in January 2013 and everyone observed and appreciated the difference in me. That’s when I realized the guidance and training provided by Matt was the one thing that was able to make this happen and no kind of dieting would have worked on its own. This realization is the reason for writing this testimonial.

I’ve gone to many different types of…trainers throughout the years, and although many have been good, Jeff has surpassed them all.
Never before have I looked forward to going to the gym. I’ve gone to many different types of classes and trainers throughout the years, and although many have been good, Jeff has surpassed them all. In all honesty, every week I look forward to my training sessions. The benefits I get from training with him outweigh the cost of personal training by far. I am able to work out muscles that I am unable to hit myself in a safe manner. Form and proper extension are key to any workout and I know that I will not injure myself in any of my sessions although I often push past what I think are my personal limits. After almost six months of consistent training, I am often surprised by the fact that we rarely repeat exercises, the creativity of each move, and how fast each session goes. I cannot say enough about how much I have enjoyed training with Jeff and would recommend him to anyone who is looking to increase their fitness abilities or get back in shape. His enthusiasm and encouragement coupled with professional knowledge make him one of the best trainers I know.

I have had the experience of working with several personal trainers over the years. Some have taken my athleticism and eagerness too far and have pushed me into a zone that caused extreme fatigue and the risk of injury. This is, personally, why I avoided working with a personal trainer for two and a half years.
My husband kept coming home for a few months raving about a trainer who was different from anyone else he ever met. My husband, like me, was dubious of most personal trainers, so the fact that he was raving about a trainer who was truly helping him with his IT-band issues and range of motion meant I had to check this guy out.
